. The world needs more mid-engine kit cars set up to recieve FWD transverse drive trains. Endless possibilities.

That’s the only kit-car website I’ve seen where the website might actually make it look more complicated than it actually is.
Usually they make it look too easy.

No, their website looks like it’s from 1998. But they only sell books, so I’m not expecting brilliance in the web development realm.

Imagine something like that with a 3800 V6

Sorry, business major. Nitpicking is what I do. This site screams lazy to me.

They could definitely sell more books with a better site.

No kidding. Supercharged? It would be insane.

Exocets are awesome, but require an FR donor. The MidLana is mid-engine.

Maybe thats why they recommend a Miata drive train.

The guy made the website himself and its been around like 10+ years spanning 2 custom car builds (he also did a mini based one), making websites and selling books was never a primary objective.

That’s what the original MR2 was. It was basically a backwards Corolla.

And that’s why it’s awesome.

Exactly. It’s an exoframe Miata. But FR parts can be a little more expensive, where I could pick up a whole FF car with frame damage for a few hundred bucks. And MR has several other advantages, too.

So it is from 2004 then. His skill at car building and his lack of effort does not make me think it looks any less shitty.

These are great. Did you know they have an LS kit for this? Imagine one of these with an LS3. I kinda want one like that, but I know that’s a bad idea for someone with my level of skill.

To be clear, I think this is a scratch built tube frame chassis. The linked page is for plans, not parts/kits. It seems more Locost than kit car.

I wonder how the F/R weight bias is. Mid-rear engine with a long nose makes me think this could have some real interesting oversteer tendencies.
Does anyone know more about this?

I bought this for a doner in a few years:
But it was still so nice, and cheap I’m waiting a few years and saving.

My original comment indicated I was less than pleased with the quality of the site. You defended the guy by making (valid) excuses, and I stuck to my guns. What is the issue here again?

Yes, this is scratch built. I guess that’s not technically a kit.
I’m not sure about the weight bias. He probably has it somewhere in his massive build record.

I love the 818. Though, if I was going that route, I’d probably use the traditional Subaru setup.

There were really no manual supercharged 3800s? I didn’t know that. What a shame.

Yeah, but I bet it wouldn’t be too hard to find or modify a manual to fit.
